Hello and welcome back to the MCTPTimes. I’m Luke, founder of the Times, and I’m excited to be back in the community, now writing as a division of Bundle Group.
For this homecoming article, I want to take a look at some new features and locations on this year’s “Coasters and Crafters Live” server. The map has come a long way since I first covered the event back in 2021, so please enjoy this preview of the ten best additions to this year’s expo.

That wraps it up for my list of the ten best additions to this year’s “Coasters and Crafters Live” server. If you’ve made it this far, I hope to see you around the event exploring all of these new features from August 30th to September 1st.

Spawn Island
Starting strong, we have a brand new spawn island for the event, providing both new and returning attendees with an introduction to all things “Coasters and Crafters Live.” The handy information booth provides guests with a brief background on Coasters and Crafters, as well as this year’s fundraising program, Extra Life. Additionally, the island functions as a tutorial for the various movement and transportation systems players will encounter throughout the map. An important piece of this tutorial is the brand-new “Jungle Mayhem” parkour course, intended to be the first of the map’s five parkour courses to be completed, as it introduces players to important mechanics, such as geysers and grapples. Finally, the island features two methods of transportation that offer access to the main island. First is a returning method of transit: a boat! The second is a train, part of the map’s fully-integrated metro line (more on that later). Though you may not choose to spend much time on Spawn Island, we invite all players to familiarize themselves with our unique server systems before setting sail for the main island.

New Interiors
Once on the main island, be sure to check out the fully-refurbished city on both sides of the Panel Stage. Featuring one apartment building, two hotels, seven restaurants, an art gallery, and multiple museums, the interiors in this area have undergone complete renovations since last year. Notable updates include From the Desk Studios, a new multimedia center serving as the hub for the expo’s Twitch streams and pre-recorded YouTube shows. The first floor of the studio is the From the Desk Museum, where guests can catch up on three years of lore and relive some of “From the Desk’s” best moments. If you’re looking for a bite to (virtually) eat, head on over to Buffalo Bill’s Steakhouse, a palatial three-story restaurant that pays tribute to the Wild West. Next door is Roland’s Popcorn Museum, a wacky experience that words alone cannot describe. There are still over fifteen brand new interiors that I have not mentioned, but I implore you to explore the city for yourself! You never know what you might find just around the corner.

Governmental Quarter
In place of the booth hall this year, the entire east side of the main island has been reimagined as the server’s Governmental Quarter. The focal point of this region is the Capitol Building, featuring presidential offices, the Senate, and the House. To the right of the Capitol is the Supreme Court, where players found to be trespassing or dealing in illicit activities will stand trial before the Coasters and Crafters Justices. Opposite the court is the Treasury, featuring both the reserve and mint for CoasterCoins. The mint, I will warn, is still under construction, so enter at your own risk! The Governmental Quarter also features the offices of the Metro & Transit Authority, along with a beautifully ornate church and adjacent graveyard. If you are interested in checking out the booths, don’t fret; booths are still available to explore on a separate server. Still, be sure to make time to explore this brand-new addition to the map. The street in front of the government offices features shopping, a VIP lounge, and a jumping club so you can keep the party going all night long.

Dockyard
To the west of the Extra Life Gardens (which are south of the Main Stage), stands the Dockyard, a quaint industrial town responsible for constructing the many ships present around the map. Featuring businesses, homes, and storage spaces for the map’s various modes of transportation, this small section of the map has a lot of detail to appreciate. After taking a dip in the harbor, why not get a drink at the Tiki bar? There are plenty of cargo crates to stumble into if you’ve had a few too many drinks. The Dockyard also includes the storage/maintenance yard for the main island’s aboveground rail line. Come watch our skilled workers fix up the trains that get you around the main island. I’m also being told to advise you to “ride the new SkibidiMobile in UNIT 01?” You’ll have to check that one out for yourself.

New Caves and Ruins (Main Island)
Before we dive outside the main island, I want to quickly highlight some of the new and refurbished caves and ruins that can be explored around the main island. Since many elements of this island are better left to be discovered by you, I’m only going to mention two new(ish) explorable structures. The first is the abandoned, crumbling fort that can be found to the northwest of the Main Stage. This towering fort features a prison, kitchen, ship bay, and lots of secrets to uncover. Just below the fort lies Cobbled Cove, a charming little town tucked beneath the main island. Featuring shops and shacks along a small shoreline, Cobbled Cove is a hidden paradise for players to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city above. With that, let’s set sail and explore what the rest of the map has to offer!

New Server-wide Metro System
Perhaps the most impressive addition to this year’s map is the server-wide metro system. No, this metro system is not simply made up of various warp points spread across the server. This fully underground, fully functional new mode of transportation features eleven stations spread across two train lines: city and island. The aptly named city line connects eight stations spread across the main island. This line offers players a fast, convenient way to travel between various landmarks, such as the Capitol Building, the city center, the Extra Life Gardens, and of course, the Main Stage. The island line offers three stations, connecting the aforementioned Spawn Island to the main island to Themepark Island, which I’ll discuss next. Featuring a custom 3D-modeled train, the metro system is one of the most impressive examples of this year’s progress and showcases some of the best of what our team is capable of.
Themepark Island
The largest expansion to the server this year is Themepark Island, a custom themepark filled with original lands, rides, models, audio, and even shows. The park is a culmination of our team’s diverse interests, cultures, and aspirations. Composed of four unique lands, Shipwreck/Waterworld, Germantown, Polynesia, and the Research Base, this park features seven rides, two walkthrough experiences, and one show. The rides range from roller coasters, log flumes, dark rides, to our very own ‘Jungle Cruise.’ This is certainly the most ambitious addition to this year’s expo, serving as both a showcase of our team’s talent and a source of inspiration for the broader Minecraft theme park community to draw from. This is a “don’t miss!” component of this year’s expo that you are surely going to want to dedicate time to exploring.

New Map Expansions/Islands
Aside from Themepark Island, the map has been drastically expanded, now spanning over 100 unique islands. Many iconic islands from last year’s expo are returning, such as Fazbear Island and Shipwrecker Island, hosting the notoriously difficult Shipwrecker parkour course. Yet just beyond Shipwreckers lies a whole host of brand-new, unique islands to explore, such as OG Island, bringing players into a nostalgia-filled blast from the past with our replication of Minecraft Alpha. Just above Fazbear Island sits Lighthouse Island, full of lush, explorable terrain, and of course, a lighthouse. Separating Lighthouse Island from Themepark Island rests The Trench, a hand-built, rugged underwater ravine. Players adventurous enough to dive into the deep and traverse the depths will be rewarded with a secret city hidden on the seafloor. What exactly is this city? That’s for you to find out.

Geyser Valley’s Return
It’s back! Making its triumphant return just north of the new Governmental Quarters is… Geyser Valley, our new and improved monstrous geyser/grapple parkour course(s). Following the unfortunate breakdown of last year’s geyser functionality, our team worked hard to bring you all a revamped geyser experience this year. Geyser Valley now offers four unique geyser/grapple parkour courses with varying levels of difficulty. Our geysers are now buttery-smooth, and our grapples are 3D-modeled, so get out there and try to knock our staff team off the leaderboards!

Little Britain
The final map addition I would like to highlight is Little Britain, the brain(rot)child of Bundle team member Voidem. Little Britain is Voidem’s ideal vision of the United Kingdom, featuring such landmarks as Amongite Vacation Beach, the Coal Mines, and Big Ben parkour, loosely based on Cars 2. There is plenty to explore in the Coal Mines, so put on your hard hat and get to mining… you never know what lurks beneath the surface of Little Britain. That wraps it up for my list of the ten best additions to this year’s “Coasters and Crafters Live” server. If you’ve made it this far, I hope to see you around the event exploring all of these new features from August 30th to September 1st.
